Favourite Bookstores on Instagram (#LoveYourBookshopDay)
Today is Love Your Bookshop Day. This is one of my favourite days, I save up some spending money and stop by on a number of bookshops to show some support. Local bookshops across Australia plan events, get in cool swag and often there is cake. I highly recommend dropping into your local bookshop today to show them some love.
Of course, this is not possible for everyone. Maybe you don't have a local bookshop, maybe you don't even have a 'I could do a day trip out to get to a bookshop' option. If this is you, you can still enjoy the spirit of the local bookshop online. Here are a few of my favourite bookshops accounts.
Beachside Bookshop
The Beachside Bookshop is in Avalon Beach (Sydney), way out from where I live. But I finally actually made the trek out to visit this year and am so glad I did. It's got such a great vibe, cosy and with a strong sense of community. The shop is small but feels like it has an abundance of books. If you live in the area, definitely stop by for a chat with Libby and peruse the shelves.
Libby runs an excellent instagram account (@Beachside_Bookshop), she's so passionate about local authors and always has great recommendations. She has a strong focus on YA and Kids books. She does a mix of content, beautiful shots of her shelves and displays, single book reviews and photos with authors who visit the store. I highly recommend following her.

Better Read Than Dead
Better Read Than Dead (Newtown, Sydney) is my local and I love it. I even bought a pin. Better Read is a place I love to be, it has great events, fantastic staff and feels like somewhere you could spend hours and hours.
They have a few different instagram accounts, as well as the general bookshop account (@betterreadbookshop), Β they also have @betterreadkids, @betterreadtours and @betterreadcooks. Pretty sure that's all of them. (My fave is the kids but they're all great).
I love their accounts because they have beautiful photos that include really thoughtful reviews from their staff, their weekly best-sellers (always interesting to see) and it always feels like they're having a lot of fun.

Where The Wild Things Are
Where The Wild Things Are, and its parent store Avid Reader, are in West End, Brisbane. They're on my visit list if I ever go back to Brisbane. Both have great instagram accounts, and you might also have heard of Avid Reader (@avidreader) which has been in the news a few time for taking a stand on political books and standing up to trolls (personally I think good on them, some people didn't like it).
The best part about the Where The Wild Things Are instagram account (@wherethewildthingsare_bookshop) is the photos of their incredible window displays. They also post loads of great reviews, their outfacing picture books shelf is gorgeous and they also have a whole account for their YA selection called @where.the.wild.teens.are.

Fullers Bookshop
Fullers (Hobart) was my local bookshop for most of my life, and I love it so much. I visit multiple times whenever I go home and it is one of my favourite places to be. It's a really easy bookshop to browse for hours, the Afterword cafe is inside the bookshop so you don't have to venture back outside to settle down with a warm drink and a book (buy it first!).
I mostly just like the instagram accounts (@fullersbookshop) because it reminds me of home, but it has all the good bookshop photos to warm your soul with.
Let me know if you have any favourite bookstore instagram accounts, I'm always keen for more :)
